What Is the Digimon Matching Event?

Bandai Namco added the Digimon Matching (デジモン合わせ) mini-game as part of DIGIMON UP's launch celebration, running from July 15 through August 5, 2026 (14:59 JST). The mode is a timed memory-matching puzzle: flip cards to pair identical Digimon artwork before the clock runs out. Stages increase in difficulty as you progress, and clearing every stage unlocks bonus reward tiers.

This event is separate from gacha banners and pre-registration mailbox gifts. Access it through the in-app Events or News menu after updating to the launch-day client. Details can change without notice — always confirm timers inside the app.

How to Play Digimon Matching

1. Open the event banner from the home screen news ticker or Events tab.
2. Select a stage — early stages use fewer pairs and longer timers.
3. Tap two face-down cards; matched pairs stay revealed, mismatches flip back.
4. Clear all pairs before time expires to complete the stage.
5. Advance to the next stage for harder layouts and better rewards.

Tip: Memorize positions after your first pass instead of random tapping. Later stages shrink the timer — plan your opening moves on corner cards first since they are easier to track.

Difficulty Scaling

Official descriptions state multiple stages with rising difficulty. Expect more pairs, shorter timers, or distracting animations in later tiers. If you fail, most mobile events allow retries without premium cost — check whether DIGIMON UP consumes stamina or daily attempts.

Rewards and Why It Matters

Completing individual stages grants incremental resources. Full completion unlocks bonus chests. Even if you skip gacha chasing, this puzzle event is worth doing — it does not require combat power.

Confirmed Reward Tracks (GameWith / launch data)

Stage clears: Stages 1–4 grant rising Digi Emerald bundles (100→400). Stage 5 grants Buddy Summon Tickets ×10.

Combo milestones: Matching combos unlock Skill Card tickets, Supporter tickets, Hologram tickets, and Emeralds at 10/20/30/40/50 combo tiers.

Event points (P): Earn P from missions — 70P Bits, 140P Hologram Tickets, 200P SP Supporter Summon Ticket, 220P Tailmon Pajamas (legs), 240P Agumon Pajamas (legs).

Claim deadline: Reward pickup runs through September 30, 2026, 23:59 JST even though the mini-game ends August 5. Do not forget to redeem unclaimed P rewards.

Pair with F2P currency farming and Launch Gacha before the August 5 gameplay deadline.

Common Mistakes

Rushing the final ten seconds without a mental map wastes attempts. Ignoring the event until the last day risks missing cumulative stage rewards if later stages require multiple tries. Not updating the app can hide the event banner entirely — patch before July 20 if you do not see Digimon Matching listed.
